Why the coach won't answer medication questions

Coach Ava never gives dose, timing or treatment advice; here's what you see instead and where to take those questions.

Coach Ava is there for education and everyday habits, not medical care. Your dose, its timing, and starting or stopping a medication are decisions for the clinician who prescribes it, so the coach steps aside rather than guessing.

Steps

  1. Ask your question in Coach as usual.
  2. If it's about your medication, the reply is marked Safety redirect. It explains that this is a question for your prescriber and offers what the coach can do instead, such as helping you list questions for your next appointment or explaining in general how GLP-1 medications work.
  3. Take the question to your prescriber. To bring a summary of what you've logged, open Prepare for my appointment, choose what to include, and agree before anything is shared.
  4. If you were really asking where something is in the app, such as where to log a dose, the reply may answer with the help center's steps or link the article under Sources.

Good to know

  • If your message sounds like an emergency or a crisis, the coach replies with emergency contacts instead: call 911, or in the U.S. call or text 988, any time.
  • Ava can see what you've logged, but that never lets it advise on medication. The rule is checked before anything else happens.
  • Your care team and the community follow the same rule: questions about your medication go to your prescriber.
