Pause with Vacation Mode

Take a planned break for travel or illness without breaking your streaks or lowering your consistency.

Vacation Mode is for planned breaks — travel, illness, a hard fortnight. Days inside a break don't break your streaks and don't count against your consistency.

Steps

  1. Open Settings (the gear icon at the bottom of the menu), or go to Settings.
  2. Find the Vacation Mode card.
  3. Set From (it starts on today) and, if you know it, Until (optional). Leave Until blank for an open-ended break.
  4. Select Start a break.
  5. When you're back, return to the card and select I'm back.

Good to know

  • While a break is active, the Habits page says that today doesn't count against you — log as much or as little as you like.
  • Paused days are left out of your streaks, your grace and the "this week" percentages rather than counted as misses. The same goes for the longer-term consistency figures behind credentials, graduation and transition readiness.
  • Coming back early with I'm back ends the break at yesterday, so the days you were away stay excluded. A break that hadn't started yet is simply cancelled.
  • The end of a break can't come before its start.
