Sign in with a recovery code
Get into your account with one of your saved recovery codes when you don't have your authenticator app, and make a fresh set.
When you turned on two-step verification, you saved 10 recovery codes. Each one gets you in once when your authenticator app isn't to hand.
Steps
- Log in with your email and password as usual.
- On Enter your code, choose Use a recovery code.
- Type one of your saved codes in Recovery code and choose Sign in. Capital letters and the hyphen don't matter.
To make a fresh set of codes:
- Go to Security (in Settings, next to Security, choose Manage).
- Under Two-step verification, choose New recovery codes.
- Enter the Current code from your app and choose Make new codes.
- Download or print the new codes, then choose I've saved them.
Good to know
- Each code works once. When you have 3 or fewer left, GLP-Won reminds you to make more, and your Security page shows how many remain.
- Making new codes cancels every code you had before.
- Making new codes, or moving to a new phone, needs a code from your authenticator app. If you no longer have the app, contact support from the email on your account.
- If you've lost your recovery codes as well, contact support from the email on your account. They'll check it's you before turning two-step verification off.
