Log anything with Quick Capture
Type or say one sentence about a meal, water, your weight, a symptom, food noise or a reminder, check it, then save.
Quick Capture lets you record something in your own words from any page, without finding the right page first. You type or say a sentence, check what the app understood, and save.
Steps
- Select the round sparkle button (Quick capture) just above the bottom navigation. On a larger screen it sits in the bottom corner.
- Under What happened?, type a sentence, such as "Chicken burrito bowl for lunch".
- To speak instead, select the microphone (Dictate). When you hear a short beep and see Listening…, say your sentence. Select the microphone again to stop.
- Select Continue. A card shows what will be saved.
- Check and edit the fields on the card, then select Save it. Nothing is saved until you do.
Good to know
- Quick Capture can log food (with calories and protein), water in ounces, your weight, a symptom with a severity from 1 to 10, food noise, hunger, cravings and fullness, or a reminder.
- Medication doses are never logged here. Log them on the Medication page.
- If your sentence is about changing a dose, or sounds like an emergency, the card says Not recorded and nothing is saved.
- Calories or protein filled in for you are estimates. Change them if you know better.
- If you didn't give a symptom a number, the card asks how bad it is. Symptoms are assessed the same way as on the Medication page, and if one needs attention a page with guidance opens after you save.
- The microphone only appears in browsers that support dictation. If it can't hear you, a message under the box explains why.
- On Plus and above, Photo logs a meal from a picture.
